Our peaceable kingdom

by June

Where have we been? Not far really. Home is a good place to be. But since we've been away from here, how about some postcards of our summer?

We've been watching the garden grow in the new beds...

and playing with the silly goats...

Blossom and Fern "pretend" ride the goats.
...and the beloved cat and chickens, too.

We've been raising ducklings...

...into ducks named Peach and Ping.

That's Ping with Fern's big toe in her beak.
We sit on the back porch—when we can grab the closing moments of a hectic day—and we watch our peaceable kingdom and think of friends near and far. We've been thinking of you. I can't tell you how intertwined our life on this land is with the friends we've made through the blog. We've heard from some of you lately, asking where we've been and when we'll be back. And we, too, have been wishing we could pick up the conversation where we left off. And now we have. What's new, dears?

June, when I saw your post in my reader, I jumped right over!! The girls are growing fast and so is your little homestead ~ ducks! I love them! (I still remember reading "The Story About Ping" as a child and I always tell my last chicken they're late! Perhaps I should get some ducks... well, at least I'm finally getting some goats soon! Stay in touch with us via your blog. Even a quick picture with a sentence or two!

I love it anytime we hear from you and your family! I was wondering if the story of Ping would come into play when I saw you now have ducks. I hope fourgreenacres is updated quarterly (at least) just to let us know you're okay.

Have a lovely rest of the Maine summer. Cheers~

Oh, good to see you back. I've missed seeing your beautiful goats! We've been planning and designing our goat barn over the last few weeks, in the hopes of adding Nigerian Dwarfs to the farm next spring (turns out we'll need a building permit - bah - oh well, it's worth it). I love your ducklings, how fun! Ducks are such great fun, and seem a little less hard on the plants too. Your chickens look like they're living in paradise.

The next big difference between Hold'em and Omaha poker is a limit of two cards face down . This means that even if a player has four cards face down , two, and only two of them can participate in the game. For example, you can arrange a set of cards with the cards selected exclusively from the community cards (called playing the board) , because these cards do NOT contain two cards face down .

Do not use any of the two peaks of common and add three peaks of cards face down , to get the color , because it would break the rules - would use three , rather than two cards. In Omaha, no less and no more than two of the four hole cards MUST ALWAYS BE IN THE GAME . Used cards are often changed during the hand . That's why Omaha poker is so exciting and is therefore greater game based on mathematics than Texas Hold'em. The possibilities are (almost) endless !

The earliest models of video poker machines were introduced sometime in the middle of the 70 - ties. The game has gained immense popularity in 1980 , when the players in casinos realize that playing video poker is much less frightening , of course, had to do with a smaller probability of losing money than the traditional poker game taking place at the table. In the 90's video poker game has become very popular among the residents of Las Vegas. This was due to the fact that vending machines located outside the city have smaller denominations of cash , as well as attractive chances of winning.
